South India’s great temples, a slower, deeper kind of trip.
Madurai’s soaring gopurams, Thanjavur’s Chola-era architecture, Mahabalipuram’s shore temples — a route through Tamil Nadu’s temple towns for anyone who wants more than a quick photo stop.

Built for people who want to understand what they’re seeing
Dravidian temple architecture spans centuries — we build in the time and, if you want it, the guiding to actually appreciate it.
Temple towns, properly paced
Madurai’s gopurams, Thanjavur’s Chola temples, Mahabalipuram’s shore temple — enough time at each, not a drive-by.
Chennai as your anchor point
Fly into Chennai, loop through the temple towns, fly home from the same city — a clean route.
Guides available where it helps
Some of this architecture rewards a bit of context — we can arrange local guides at the key stops.

We’re with you throughout
Before you fly and while you’re there — same number, same team.
What a South India temple route covers
Three temple towns, each a different chapter of Dravidian architecture.
We didn’t build this business to sell fares. We built it to stay part of the community.
Patel Travel started as, and still is, a family business serving London’s Indian community — Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu spoken in the office, not just on a translation app. We know the festival calendar, the wedding season, and the families who’ve booked with us for a decade or more.
Languages spoken
Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu & English — ask for someone in your language.
Festival-aware
We plan around Diwali, Navratri and wedding season, not just school holidays.
Word of mouth
Most of our clients are referred by family or friends we’ve already looked after.
Meet Mr. Patel
Patel Travel has always felt like family, not a booking engine. Mr. Patel is the face of that: the reminder that behind every reply is someone who understands the itinerary and the culture, and won’t rest until it’s sorted.

South India temples — common questions
How many days does this route need?
A week is comfortable for Madurai, Thanjavur and Mahabalipuram with Chennai either side — extend it if you want to add Kerala.
Do we need a guide at the temples?
Not essential, but many people find it adds a lot of understanding — we can arrange local guides at the key stops if you’d like.
Is this trip suitable in the summer heat?
It’s warm year-round in Tamil Nadu — we’ll advise on the best months and pace the itinerary accordingly if you’re travelling in peak summer.
